Rangers fans react on Twitter as David Templeton wins league award

Former Rangers winger David Templeton has been named as the SPFL Player of the Month for November – and Gers fans have been reacting positively to the news on Twitter.

The SPFL confirmed the award for the Hamilton ace on their official Twitter account on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old had an injury hit spell at Ibrox between 2012 and 2016 scoring 27 goals and providing 26 assists in 88 games for the Light Blues.

Templeton actually scored against the Gers last month when he capitalised on Ross McCrorie’s woefully-short backpass before rounding Wes Foderingham.

Fans were happy to see the former Gers winger get some good news after serious injury issues threatened to derail his career.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

The winger joined the Light Blues from Hearts in 2012 less than 24 hours after scoring against Liverpool in the Europa League.

Despite his injury problems, Templeton was a popular figure among Rangers fans who hoped to see more from a player named after Rangers legend David Cooper – Templeton’s full name is David Cooper Templeton.

After leaving Rangers at the beginning of last season, Templeton struggled to find a club before eventually re-emerging at Hamilton.

Since joining the Accies the former Rangers winger has shown flashes of the brilliance that won him a move to Ibrox originally and Hamilton fans will be desperate that he can maintain it.

In other Rangers news, Celtic have suddenly become a key part in the Gers’ bid to appoint McInnes.
