Rangers attacker Josh Windass has been in fantastic form for the Gers in recent weeks – but his performance against St. Johnstone left fans raging on social media.
The former Accrington star has scored five times in his last eight appearances but was barely involved in the opening 45 against Tommy Wright’s side on Saturday afternoon.
The Gers took the lead through Alfredo Morelos before Blair Alston levelled the scores just minutes later.
Saints took the lead in the second-half when former Celtic youngster Denny Johnstone headed beyond Foderingham.
Substitute Cummins made it 3-1 to the visitors as he capitalised on some slack defending to rifle home and kill the game off.
Windass played slightly wider on the left than he has in recent weeks as Graeme Murty adjusted his side following Kenny Miller’s injury with little success.
The 23-year-old was more prominent in the second-half but blew several good chances to fire the Gers back into the game.
Fans wanted Windass played centrally where he has enjoyed his best form or “not at all.”
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
Herrera wouldn’t of done anything to be honest! He’s worse than a man down! Windass has been non existent today tho!! 🤬

Morelos needs to stop dropping deep to link play because he canny pass a baw. Let windass drop deep and leave Morelos as a target man

Playing on the left. Very poor first half from the full team. Got the early goal then after that they have created nothing. Not one shot on goal.

Windass has made 22 appearances for Rangers this season, scoring six times.
The result leaves Rangers trailing Aberdeen by three points in the Scottish Premiership and also gives Celtic some breathing space going into the upcoming Old Firm clash at Celtic Park.
In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has urged the Gers to sign this £4million+ dynamo who is also wanted by Celtic.
