'Not fit for purpose' - Rangers fans react to Thursday midfielder announcement

By James Black

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has given Graeme Murty a huge boost ahead of Saturday’s clash with Partick Thistle after his suspension was overturned by the Scottish FA, leading fans to blast the SFA over the whole affair.

Jack was dismissed in the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock after a confrontation with Kirk Broadfoot left the Killie defender on the ground.

Broadfoot made a number of attempts to stand on Jack’s feet before going down theatrically and clutching his face

The referee originally booked Jack before the fourth official intervened and the Ibrox midfielder was shown a straight red.

The Light Blues appealed the decision and it was announced by the Scottish FA on Thursday that they agreed Jack shouldn’t have been sent off as they rescinded a second red card for the 25-year-old this season.

Jack also had a sending off against Hibs wiped after being wrong-accused headbutting Anthony Stokes.

Since joining the Gers over the summer, Jack has been dismissed three times but with two of them later being rescinded Rangers fans are furious with the Scottish FA.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Rangers have dropped points in both games Jack was wrongly sent-off.

The Gers lost at home to Hibs before conceding a calamitous late equaliser against Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.

In other Rangers news, an Ibrox legend was delighted to see Kenny Miller back in the starting XI.
