Celtic have completed the signing of winger Lewis Morgan from St. Mirren and Rangers fans are baffled at how he could choose to play for the Hoops – comparing him with Scott Allan.
Morgan grew up as a Gers fan and was on the Ibrox club’s books as a youngster before being released in 2013 and signing for St. Mirren.
After impressing with the Buddies both Rangers and Celtic were interested in signing the youngster before he agreed a four-and-a-half year deal with Brendan Rodgers’ side on Friday.
Rangers fans simply couldn’t get their head around the former Rangers youth player could play for their bitter rivals – with one saying he had “ruined his football career” by signing for the Scottish Premiership leaders.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
I don’t get if Lewis Morgan is a rangers fan how can he even think about playing for Celtic

Lewis Morgan. I get that he’s moving to a bigger club and will be on decent money, but as someone that’s allegedly a rangers fan I just don’t know how he can pull on the jersey!

So lewis Morgan is apparently Rangers “daft”…. that must be exaggerated, as if he was, he would never contemplate signing for them!

@ClydeSSB rangers fan disgusted that the rangers board allowed Lewis Morgan to be signed by CFC. He’s a Gers fan from our academy and for a fraction of what our Mexican drinker cost. Wanted RFC to get him back for a long time.

Lewis Morgan – any true rangers man even Celtic man wouldn't sign for the opposite side 🐀🐀

Why would morgan want to join them? Christie barely had any chances before being punted out on loan to sheep, anyway if he's a true bluenose he wouldn't go near them

Morgan made his St. Mirren debut a year after signing for the Paisley side and has scored 24 times in 102 games for the Buddies.
This season has been easily Morgan’s most productive with 13 goals and 8 assists in 26 appearances for the Championship leaders.
Morgan has been loaned back to Jack Ross’ side for the rest of the season as the Saits look to win promotion back to the Scottish Premiership three years after being relegated from the top flight.
In other Rangers news, a defender has agreed terms for a temporary ibrox exit.
