Rangers fans react on Twitter as club reportedly target Leeds key man
By Amir Mir
Leeds manager Garry Monk has been touted to swap his current job for the vacant post at Rangers – and fans on Twitter have provided mixed views.
The Daily Mail claim Monk and out-of-work manager Gary Rowett could be identified as possible replacements for Mark Warburton from down south.
Former Brentford boss Warburton left his role at Ibrox on Friday, along with his assistant David Wier and head of recruitment Frank McParland.
Supporters on Twitter provided mixed views to the possibility that Leeds’ key man could be heading up north.
One fan felt that the Gers will not be able to pay the compensation package to the Championship club considering their current financial situation.
While another supporter stated that Monk is doing a great job at the Yorkshire club as they are fighting for promotion to the Premier League.
Monk has managerial experience in the top flight when the former centre-back managed Welsh outfit Swansea.
However, fans of the Glasgow club believe there is a 0% chance of Monk making the move because he is six months into his project at Elland Road.
Overall, supporters couldn’t make their mind up as to what to think, with some happily taking him on board, but others thinking, financially, it won’t be possible.
