Rangers are close to securing the signature of Brighton attacker, according to a report, and fans are delighted by the prospect of seeing the former Motherwell winger lining up for the Gers.
The Daily Mail claim a deal is close to being agreed for the 28-year-old which would see him join his boyhood heroes.
Murphy would be the Gers second signing of the transfer window after agreeing a permanent deal with on-loan full-back Declan John.

Murphy has been on the fringes of the Brighton squad this season after being a key member of their side as they gained promotion to the Premier League for the first time.
The 28-year-old was left out of the squad for Brighton’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Monday and is believed to be high on Ibrox director of football Mark Allen’s January shopping list.
The Gers will be hoping to get any deal done as quickly as possible with the Light Blues set to fly out to Florida at the end of the week for warm weather training and compete in the Florida Cup.
Whilst in Florida, Rangers will face Brazilian sides Corinthians and Atletico Mineiro.
