Rangers Under-20’s striker Zak Rudden fired a hat-trick for the Light Blues in Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Greek giants AEK Athens in the latest fixture in their Games Programme – and Gers fans were delighted for the 18-year-old.
Rudden was joined on the scoresheet by captain Stephen Kelly as the Light Blues recorded a dominant win over the Greeks to continue their fine form against some of Europe’s elite youth teams.
Gers fans were ecstatic for the emerging Scotland youth talent and were quick to praise his performance on Twitter – with one fan saying that he was “buzzing” for the striker.

Rudden has been a prolific goalscorer for the Under-20’s over the last two seasons and put in an impressive performance against the Greek side at Ravenscraig.
Rudden scored his first when Serge Atakayi whipped in a cross from the right and Rudden met it perfectly with a diving header to find the back of the net to draw the Gers level after falling behind.
Shortly after half-time Rudden scored his second when he rounded off a great passing move and showed fantastic composure to get the ball out from under his feet and fire home to make it 2-1.
Rudden then rounded off the scoring after getting onto a lovely through ball that cut open the Athens defence before the 18-year-old forward poked the ball under the goalkeeper to seal a 4-1 win.
