Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood is interested in taking over as manager at Rangers – and it’s gone down like a lead balloon with Rangers fans.

The former Spurs and Aston Villa boss doesn’t exactly have the best of reputations and fans are almost unanimous in not wanting Sherwood to replace Pedro Caixinha.

Sherwood has been out of work since being sacked by Swindon Town in June after they were relegated to League Two.

The closest Rangers fans came to thinking it would be a good idea was one suggesting it would be a “laugh.”

The four-times capped former England international replaced Andre Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane in 2013 as he took his first steps in management but was sacked less than six months later after taking Spurs to a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League.

Sherwood returned to management shortly afterwards when he replaced Paul Lambert at Aston Villa but was sacked within 12 months after an incredible 10-game winless run left the Villa Park side on the brink of relegation to the Championship.

 Interim manager Graeme Murty remains in charge of the Ibrox giants as they prepare to take on Hamilton on Saturday in the Scottish Premiership.
