'Tremendous player', 'Wonderful' - Rangers fans blown away by 28-yr-old display v Hearts

Rangers winger Jamie Murphy was one of the Gers’ best players in their Scottish Premiership win over Hearts on Sunday – and fans are desperate to see the Ibrox giants keep hold of the fleet-footed wideman.

The 28-year-old’s pinpoint cross found Daniel Candeias to tee up Jason Cummings for the opening goal before repeating the feat later in the game for Candeias to make it 2-0.

Murphy was a constant threat for the Ibrox giants as they put in an impressive afternoon’s work showed a great reaction after last weekend’s Scottish Cup humiliation

Gers fans were blown away by Murphy’s performance in the 2-1 win over Craig Levein’s side – with one player calling the winger’s footwork “mesmerising.”

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Murphy joined the Gers on loan from Premier League side Brighton in January but the Gers have an agreement in place to make to make it a permanent switch in the summer.

The Scotland international has made 16 appearances for the Gers since his arrivals, scoring five times and creating seven goals for his team-mates and has been a fantastic signing by the Ibrox giants.

The win over Hearts sees the Gers return to second in the Scottish Premiership on goal difference after Aberdeen’s win over Kilmarnock 24 hours earlier.

The Gers will be hoping Murphy can put in a similar performance next weekend and delay Celtic’s title party by another week.
