'Verbal grenades', 'King is going to show his hand' - Rangers fans react to £6m injection update
Dave King has confirmed that Rangers are set to see a fresh injection of funds with the Ibrox giants planning to raise £6million through a share issue – and Gers fans weren’t surprised there wasn’t a huge amount of detail from the chairman.
As quoted by STV, the Ibrox giants plan to raise the funds imminently but the Gers chairman confirmed there would be no external investment in the Light Blues despite a host of pundits suggesting that is what is needed for an overhaul of the squad in the summer.
Fans of the Ibrox giants didn’t appear to be too moved one way or another by the news – with one saying “no other club would tell the press” how much was available to spend so “why should we?”
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
No sure why anyone would think he would discuss how much money is available to the new manager? No other club would tell the press this so why would we?

Rangers fans sure know how to set themselves up for disappointment. Three years of rumours about massive external investment. Claims that AJ was brought in to find investment (despite previous proof when in charge he couldn't do this).

Tbh Dave king as not made any Rangers fan look like a fanny over today's media briefing. We all make our self look like fannies when we come on here posting "60m from middle east/chi na" cause you heard it in yer Skoda Octavia taxi on the home from the pub.

Dave King flies in from SA, chucks a couple of verbal grenades about while our fans go into meltdown, and then he flies away back to SA ????

Don't believe for a second that Gerrard will only have 6 million to spend. I just think that Dave King is going to show his hand before the games started???? Let's wait and see

After appointing Steven Gerrard as the club’s new manager on Friday, fans were speculating that there could be news of massive new investment coming into the Ibrox giants.
The share issue will see existing loans from directors and shareholders converted into shares in the club while also offering the chance for existing shareholders to invest more funds into the Glasgow giants.

It’s unclear what effect, if any, it will have on Gerrard’s budget for players this summer as he looks to revamp the Ibrox squad.
