Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to hail Jordan Rossiter and call for him to be promoted into the first team after his comeback display for the youth team on Tuesday.
The Light Blues’ development squad ran riot against Leicester City to avenge a 6-1 thumping at Ibrox back in September.
Goals from Stephen Kelly and rising star Glenn Middleton had the Ibrox youngsters in control at the break before Zak Rudden’s hat-trick and a Liam Burt strike sealed a fine 6-0 win at the English club’s Belvoir Drive training complex on Tuesday..
Rossiter featured for the full 90 minutes as he made his return following another lengthy spell on the sidelines in what was a marked turnaround from the reverse fixture when Rangers were overpowered by a streetwise young Foxes side.
It was a third win on the bounce for the young side as they continue their experimental “Games Programme” against academy sides from around the world.

One of the main talking points for Rangers fans on social media was the performance of Rossiter, 21, following a campaign in which injuries have restricted him to just 197 senior minutes.
Fans have called for him to return to the first team, hailing his “first class” attitude and “outstanding” talent.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
I fear rossiter being fit because it’s just going to be another let down for us. He will come in, be amazing then get injured again!

Rossiter played 90 minutes today and was apparently outstanding.

One thing you can always say about Rossiter is his professionalism and attitude is first class. He’s just getting on with it and playing for the youth team. His maturity would put some more experienced players to shame.

I remember after the progres game he was the only one with balls to speak and he spoke so well. Wish the lad could keep fit as I think he would be some player

I would like to see him get a couple of games for the first team cause we need someone like him to break up play in the middle of the Park

Was thinking the same thoughts. Hope he comes good and it works out for him, I like his attitude. Must have been very frustrating for him the last couple of years.

I’m a big fan of Rossiter but we need to make a decision in the summer whether we trust his fitness for first team commitments. Realistically we should have no more than 6 CM’s and with the names linked to come in I think we should only keep 1 of Holt and Rossiter. Which one?
