Rangers fans react on Twitter to Alex Neil sacking

By Harvey Byrne

Scottish boss Alex Neil lost his position in charge of Championship outfit Norwich on Friday evening – and Rangers fans on Twitter are starting to wonder.

The Premiership giants are currently without a manager following the departure of Mark Warburton in February.

It is believed that they are close to appointing Portuguese boss Pedro Caixinha, but with no official announcement as of yet fans are still speculating.

Now, Neil, 35, became the bookies favourite for the managerial position at Ibrox at the end of February.

But, nothing became of it or talked about since with Neil left in charge of the Canaries.

However, his sacking has certainly became a big talking point for the Rangers fans on social media.

Some sections of the fan base were hinting that they would like Neil to now take the job instead of Caixinha, while others simply speculated about a move to Ibrox.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Neil has had a relatively short management career to date with his start coming in the form of Premiership side Hamilton in 2013.

He has since guided Norwich with a promotion to the Premier League, but last season the Canaries suffered relegation from the top flight and are now currently placed in eighth in the second tier.

In other Rangers news, Jason Holt believes this senior man has been brilliant since joining.
