'Terrible', 'Awful' - Rangers fans tear into one player after clash v Aberdeen
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to tear into David Bates for his performance in the 2-1 win against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday afternoon.
Bates, 21, was a surprise inclusion in the starting line-up as Graeme Murty picked the defender to played in the first-team for the first time since the Europa League loss to Progres Niederkorn in July.
Before kick-off, Gers fans had slammed Murty’s decision to start the Ibrox youth product, especially in such a high-stakes game against Derek McInnes’ side.
And it seems that after the game that they still weren’t sold on the centre-back, who according to those watching on, had a poor outing at Pittodrie.
One supporter claimed that the young defender was “awful”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Bates had made just two appearances for Rangers this season, with both of them being in the infamous Europa League clashes against Progres in the summer that will go down in the clubs’ history for all the wrong reasons.
Pedro Caixinha didn’t even name Bates on his bench during his time in charge this term, but as soon as he was sacked and Murty was placed in caretaker charge, the Scottish centre-back was straight back into the matchday squad.
Injuries to Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso have certainly played a part in his inclusion though.
In other Rangers news, talks have started between this manager who is interested in the Ibrox job and a top-flight club.
