Frank de Boer was sacked from his position as Inter Milan manager on Tuesday morning and Rangers fans took to Twitter to state that they’d like their former player to return to the club.

The 46-year-old, who spent a year at Ibrox between 2004 and 2005 took charge of just 14 matches for the Italian giants after joining from Ajax in the summer.

The European giants decided to relieve the former Netherlands international from his duties after a 1-0 defeat against Sampdoria on Sunday.

It has left the world famous club in 12th place in Serie A with just 14 points from their first 11 league fixtures.

Rangers fans shared their feelings on social media following his sacking, with a number keen to see him make a return to Ibrox.

Inter was just De Boer’s second senior managerial job after managing former club Ajax.

He had a successful playing career playing for some of Europe’s biggest teams, which includes Ajax, Barcelona, Galatasaray and Rangers.

However, the Scottish giants are currently in impressive form under the guidance of manager Mark Warburton, who also earned the club promotion back to the Premiership in the last campaign.
