’50p and he’s yours’ – Rangers fans react as English club reportedly plot bid for 23-year-old

By Danny Wright

Hull are reportedly plotting a six-figure bid for midfielder Josh Windass – and Rangers fans are delighted.

The Sun has reported that the Tigers are willing to stump up £500,000 for the 23-year-old, who only moved to Ibrox from Accrington Stanley last January.

It is understood that Windass is eager for a move back south of the border after struggling to find form in Glasgow, and the former club of his father Dean Windass looks like it could be his next destination.

The central midfielder has failed to impress Pedro Caixinha since he took charge at Ibrox in March and the manager has already began to make big changes to his squad ahead of next season, with Ryan Jack already recruited as someone who could oust Josh Windass from the first-team.

His lack of form for the Light Blues has led the fans to take to Twitter to show their appreciation to Hull from taking him off their wage bill – with one fan joking “50p and he’s yours”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Windass made 27 appearances in all competitions for the Light Blues last season, supplying five assists and scoring his only goal in the 3-0 Scottish League Cup win at East Stirling.

In other Rangers news, the club have launched a bid for this goal scoring midfielder.
