Rangers fans react on Twitter to Foderingham selection v Celtic

By Matt Farr

Wes Foderingham has been passed fit to start for Rangers against Celtic on Sunday – and fans on Twitter are delighted.

The Scottish Sun had claimed on Friday that the 26-year-old goalkeeper was set to miss the Old Firm showdown at Hampden Park, having picked up an injury in training.

It was therefore anticipated that deputy stopper Jak Alnwick would make his debut for Rangers, but Foderingham has since been deemed fit enough to play a key role.

Rangers announced their confirmed line-up on their official Twitter account ahead of kick-off.

Foderingham has been an important player for Rangers this season, keeping 15 clean sheets from 38 appearances in all competitions, and his absence would have been a major loss for the club in their Scottish Cup semi final.

However, fans are understandably delighted to see him named in the starting eleven by Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Rangers have yet to record a win over Celtic in any of their previous four meetings with their Old Firm rivals this season, drawing one and losing three.

But they can book their place in the Scottish Cup Final, and become the very first side to beat Celtic this season with a win at Hampden.
