Celtic fans have mocked Joe Garner on Twitter after he failed to impact the game for Rangers during Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final.

The 29-year-old was left isolated up front for the Gers during the 2-0 loss to Old Firm rivals Celtic, as Brendan Rodgers’ side dominated at Hampden Park.

It saw the former Preston North End striker withdrawn at half time by manager Pedro Caixinha, who opted to hand him a start following his cameo role against Patrick last time out.

Celtic booked their place in the final of the Scottish Cup and kept their treble hopes alive thanks to goals from Callum McGregor and Scott Sinclair either side of half-time.

Celtic fans joked about the performance of Gers striker Garner, who failed to get himself involved in the match before being taken off early and replaced by Barrie McKay.

McGregor opened the scoring in the first half, calmly finishing after Moussa Dembele expertly controlled a long ball.

The midfielder’s goal was doubled in the second half, as Scott Sinclair was fouled in the penalty area before he got up himself to squeeze the ball past goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.
