Rangers fans react on Twitter to new Rodgers Celtic deal

By Harvey Byrne

Rangers fans on Twitter have given a mixed reaction to news that manager Brendan Rodgers has agreed a new deal at fierce rivals Celtic.

The Glasgow club announced on Friday afternoon that the former Liverpool man had signed a new four-year deal after helping the side to a Premiership title after just 31 matches in his first season in charge.

Fellow Glaswegian outfit Rangers have had their own problems on the touchline this season in their first campaign back in the Scottish top-flight after Mark Warburton departed in February with the famous club struggling to compete at the top of the pyramid.

They have since appointed Pedro Caixinha, but with 35 points currently between the Old Firm rivals there are growing concerns about whether that gap will increase.

Now, with Celtic announcing a contract extension for their man in charge Rangers fans have understandably aired their opinion on social media.

However, some are worried and have now called for chairman Dave King to get the chequebook out in an attempt to get them challenging with the best once again.
