Rangers fans react on Twitter as striker reportedly set to agree terms before Celtic clash

By Will Butcher

Kenny Miller is reportedly set to sign a new deal to stay at Rangers for the 2017-18 season – and fans have reacted on Twitter in delight at the news.

The Daily Record claim that the 37-year-old forward is set to put pen to paper on a new deal to remain at Ibrox, and could even sign ahead of Saturday’s Old Firm derby.

Miller has proved age is just a number this season, leading the way at the top of Rangers goalscoring charts in the Scottish Premiership with nine strikes.

As well as wearing the captain’s armband on occasion, the former Celtic forward’s form saw him pick up the Rangers player of the year award for the 2016-17 season.

With his current contract set to expire in just over a month’s time, Miller is now reportedly set to sign a deal that will see him remain with Pedro Caixinha’s side.

Rangers fans took to Twitter to show their support for the Gers’ decision, but some fans believes the former Wolves, Toronto and Bursaspor star should be no more than a squad player next season.

Miller is expected to start on Saturday as the Gers look to end a poor record against Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic this season, which has seen them lose four and draw one of their five Old Firm encounters.

In other Rangers news, this out-of-favour star is reportedly set to be sold by Caixinha.
