Rangers fans respond to Sunderland sacking Michael Beale – ‘He’s off to Saudi next’

Rangers fans have mocked the “awful” Michael Beale after he was sacked by Sunderland on Monday (19 February).

The former Gers boss left Ibrox back in October and was appointed by the Black Cats in mid-December – but his tenure came to an abrupt end after just 12 games in charge.

Across his dozen clashes for Sunderland, he managed just six wins and left them 10th in the Championship table.

Sunderland fans quickly soured on the former Queens Park Rangers boss due to the poor performances and his inability to endear himself to the squad.

Michael Beale has the unwanted record of being Sunderland’s shortest-serving boss, and Rangers fans are delighted

This failure was encapsulated when the Englishman seemingly snubbed a handshake from Trai Hume when he substituted in their 2-1 defeat against Birmingham City on Saturday (17 February) – Beale’s final game in charge.

Beale also ended his tenure at Rangers as an unpopular figure amid dour displays, significant defeats and a lacklustre summer transfer window.

His replacement, Philippe Clement, has very swiftly brought the Gers back to the summit of the league table and has spearheaded an emphatic change on the field and behind the scenes.

Rangers fans have taken to social media to react to the “clown’s” sacking, and there was no sympathy from supporters.
