Rangers fans say the same thing about Connor Barron after draw vs Hearts
Rangers fans were left impressed by what they saw from Connor Barron in his debut for the club against Hearts.
The Gers kicked off their Scottish Premiership campaign with a goalless drawn at Tynecastle, with Barron playing for 83 minutes until he was substituted for Kieran Dowell.
The 21-year-old joined the Scottish giants in June after the expiration of his contract at Aberdeen.
Barron had made 59 competitive appearances for the Dons, gaining plenty of experience in the Scottish Premiership.
Philippe Clement tapped into that by starting him in central midfield alongside Mohamed Diomande.
Rangers fans were pleased with Connor Barron’s debut
Barron was involved in the game’s most controversial moment when the ball appeared to hit his arm inside Rangers’ box.
There were penalty claims from Hearts which Nick Walsh and VAR waved away.
Even though the result wasn’t what Rangers were looking for on the season’s opening, Barron’s personal performance was seen as a highlight.
Fans believed he appeared to be “promising” and was the “best player” in the team, with one supporter even claiming he could be a future captain.
