Rangers fans share instant reactions to confirmed Celtic manager news
Rangers fans are annoyed that Celtic have sacked Wilfried Nancy after his torrid one-month spell in charge came to an end on Monday afternoon.
Nancy has been sacked by Celtic after just 33 days as their manager, with his December appointment following a successful spell in charge of MLS side Columbus Crew.
Just two wins from his first seven games in charge saw Nancy come under serious pressure at Celtic ahead of Saturday’s Old Firm derby against Rangers, which they lost 3-1 at Parkhead.
His suitability for the role has been constantly questioned, with many Hoops supporters wondering why they hired him in place of interim boss Martin O’Neill, who had overseen seven wins from his eight games back at the club.
O’Neill could now return for a third spell at Parkhead, with Celtic fans buzzing that Nancy is gone, while Rangers supporters are not so pleased.

Celtic sack Nancy after just 33 days in charge after Old Firm loss
Celtic took to X to announce the Frenchman’s departure, with a club statement that said: “Celtic Football Club today announces that it has decided to terminate the contract of manager Wilfried Nancy, with immediate effect.
“The Club thanks Wilfried for his efforts and wishes him and his family well for the future.“
Celtic fans have called for Nancy to be sacked for a number of weeks now, and their wish has been granted after a turbulent month with him at the helm.
They sat level on points with table-toppers Hearts when the Frenchman arrived, with Rangers nine points behind in fourth, but the two Glasgow rivals are now on the same points in second place, while the Jambos are six ahead.
Their poor form has seen fans call for O’Neil’s return to Parkhead, and they may well get their wish soon, despite Shaun Maloney leading the bookies’ odds to become their next permanent boss.
Rangers fans express their dismay at Nancy’s sacking
Nancy’s time at Celtic benefited Rangers massively, with Danny Rohl able to lift them back to second place alongside the Hoops due to his lack of impact.
The Gers were able to beat their arch-rivals with ease on Saturday, and they will have been relishing Celtic’s woes under Nancy as they both aim to challenge Hearts for the Premiership crown.
Many Rangers supporters are upset at Nancy’s departure, with one taking to X to say: “Thanks for the memories. Thought it would take a while to (see) a worse manager than Russell Martin and yous managed to do it the same season.”
While another added: “Nancy sacked. Shame. I thought he was doing such a good job,” with numerous laughing emojis.
And one said: “Nancy’s sacking is the worst (thing) to happen to Rangers in years, and that’s saying (something).”
