Rangers fans ‘should be buzzing’ as Diallo will ‘set the world alight’ – Golden Boot winner
Amad Diallo will be handed a staring role at Rangers for the second half of the season, according to Kevin Phillips.
The 2000 European Golden Shoe winner, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said the Ibrox faithful should be “buzzing” over the 19-year-old’s arrival.
Rangers announced on Thursday afternoon they have signed Man United’s Diallo on loan for the remainder of the season.
The winger moved to Old Trafford in a £37.2million deal 12 months ago but has had few opportunities in the first team due to the wealth of attacking talent at the club.
United are said to view a temporary spell with Giovani van Bronckhorst’s side as good for the teenager’s development.
Diallo is still believed to have a long-term future at Old Trafford.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the prospective move, Phillips said: “It’s so, so exciting for Rangers fans.
“This is a player who has been at big European clubs.
“I think he’ll go up there and set the world alight. I expect him to play regularly.
“We are talking about a £30million player here. Rangers supporters probably can’t believe they’ve got him. The fans should be buzzing over this.
“Celtic have been looking good in recent weeks and a signing like Diallo will just lift Rangers. It gives them a real chance now of securing that title again.”

Diallo has made nine appearances for Man United.
He has three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract.
