Rangers fans tear into ‘horrific’ Kieran Dowell after what they saw v Hibernian

Rangers fans have torn into Kieran Dowell after his performance in their Scottish Premiership victory against Hibernian at Ibrox.

Philippe Clement’s side took all three points after a first-half strike from Tom Lawrence was given following a VAR check as they kept their winning run going.

However, the boss has been heavily scrutinised for his choice of substitutions as he brought on Dowell in place of Nicolas Raskin at half-time.

The change saw Rangers lose their foothold in the game, allowing Hibs to grow into it and resulting in a tense second half which saw the visitors pile on the pressure.

While another win and a clean sheet at home is a positive result for the Ibrox club, frustrations continue to grow at the manner of their victories.

Dowell in particular has come in for plenty of criticism following his second-half display, with Gers fans questioning why he is still given regular minutes in the team.

Dowell has made just 22 appearances for Rangers since joining on a free transfer in the summer of 2023, with seven of those appearances coming this season despite his poor form.

Many have insisted academy products Cole McKinnon, 21, and Bailey Rice, 17, should be given the nod ahead of Dowell – questioning Clement’s decisions.

Taking to social media following their 1-0 win, supporters at Ibrox have labelled the midfielder “horrific” and “a waste of a jersey”, calling for the youngsters to replace him.
