Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to sign Swansea forward Oli McBurnie as he scored yet another goal while on loan at Barnsley on Tuesday night.

McBurnie, 21, was linked with a move to Ibrox in the January transfer window as speculation swirled around Alfredo Morelos’ future in Govan, but the Premier League striker ended up being shipped out to Barnsley on a temporary basis until the summer.

The Scotland Under-21 international has found the form of his life at Oakwell, wasting no time in hitting the ground running with five goals in his last five Championship outings.

He has been playing in a wide-left role for the past couple of the weeks, but that has not stopped the Swansea forward from continuing his scoring streak when he netted against Championship promotion hopefuls Cardiff on Tuesday.

McBurnie is a known Rangers supporter and with Mark Allen and Graeme Murty welcoming a whole host of Scottish players who also support the Gers in January, many hope that the 21-year-old will follow suit.

One fan urged the Light Blues to “do all you can” to snap him up.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

McBurnie has made 11 appearances in the Premier League for Swansea this season before he was sent out on loan in January.

He had not scored for the Swans, but to get one against Cardiff on Tuesday would no doubt making him a very popular figure at the Liberty.
