Ibrox Sources: England club submit bid for Rangers 26-yr-old

Blackpool have tabled a five-figure bid to Rangers in an attempt to sign Jak Alnwick permanently next month, Football Insider can reveal.

The League One promotion hopefuls are in talks with the Glasgow giants about taking the 26-year-old full-time after an impressive season on loan.

Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that the goalkeeper has no future at Rangers and the club are ready to listen to offers next month for a “nominal fee”.

There is growing confidence among all parties that a deal can be done for less than £100,000 after Football Insider revealed earlier this month that talks are underway over a January deal.

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson has spoken of his interest in converting Alnwick’s loan into a permanent deal in January and claimed he has done “fantastically well” this season.

The former England Under-20 international has made a big impression for the League One promotion hopefuls this season.

He has started all 20 of their league fixtures and conceded just 23 goals while keeping six clean sheets.

Signed by Rangers in January 2016 when Mark Warburton was manager, Alnwick was never able to secure the number one jersey at Ibrox and has spent the last two campaigns out on loan.

He was at Scunthorpe United last season before moving to another northern EFL club in Blackpool.

Rangers secured Allan McGregor to a new contract on Saturday that will run until the summer of 2021.

His number two is Wes Foderingham, whose own deal is due to expire at the end of the season to leave his future up in the air ahead of January.

In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that a £40,000-a-week man is on the verge of securing permanent Ibrox exit.
