Sorry Murty, your senior trio miss out on top spot in Rangers five best players of Banter Years

5. James Tavernier

Rangers

Tavernier was one of Mark Warburton’s first signings after taking the reins at Ibrox and the right-back has been a fixture in the starting XI ever since.

After moving north from Wigan, Tavernier quickly made the right-back spot his own and enjoyed a phenomenal debut season with the Gers as he helped them secure promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

The defender has continued to be a key part of the side and has been arguably one of the very best players in Scotland this season as he reaps the rewards of his partnership with Daniel Candeias down the right flank.

Tavernier is likely to remain a fixture in the side for the next few years at least and will be desperate to help the Gers end their seven-year wait for a major trophy.
