Rangers forward to return from loan within weeks - report
Joe Dodoo is set to return to Rangers from his loan spell at Charlton next month, according to a report.
The Evening Times claims that Dodoo, 22, has struggled to make any sort of impact at the Valley and will return to Ibrox within a matter of weeks without having much game time under his belt at all.
The forward has made just eight appearances across all competitions for Charlton, and while he has scored two goals in that time, he is due to come back to Glasgow having not started a single game in League One.
The former Leicester player hasn’t even managed a league start for the Addicks and has suffered with constant injuries.
Charlon boss Karl Robinson has confirmed that Dodoo has suffered a calf injury in the warm-up ahead of the Checkatrade Trophy clash with the Swansea development side on Tuesday.
“He did his calf in the warm-up – that’s another player we have out,” he said as quoted by the Evening Times.

“He’s not played many minutes, it is what it is. Sometimes with loans, whether it’s my fault, possibly, they don’t always hit the ground running the way you expect.”
Dodoo joined Rangers last summer while Mark Warburton was in charge and made 25 appearances across all competitions in his first term with the wide-forward scoring five goals in the process.
Football Insider Verdict
Dodoo’s career is at a great risk of stalling and unless he bucks his ideas up soon, he’s probably going to be playing non-league football in England if he can’t even get to grips with League One. Injuries haven’t helped his situation at Charlton but when he has had the chances to impress, he has barely been able to make a start. Dodoo doesn’t seem to have much of a future at Rangers either so it will be interesting to see what happens in January. With Graeme Murty set to remain in charge until at least the start of next month, the caretaker manager may have some say in transfers. Murty has got the best out of some younger players at Ibrox, so maybe he could help Dodoo get back on track.
