Rangers handed ‘huge’ boost after Gerrard Instagram reveal – Mills
Steven Gerrard’s return to the Rangers dugout against St Johnstone will be a “huge” boost, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Premier League defender also insisted Gerrard’s presence the morning of the game will be “inspiring” to his squad.
The Ibrox boss was not present at the Gers’ two games before the international break – the Europa League tie against Alashkert and the first Old Firm clash of the season – because of a covid outbreak in the squad.

He took to his personal Instagram page this week (8 September) to share a picture of himself with friends accompanied by the caption “post covid catch up”.
The 41-year-old looks set to return to the Rangers bench for Saturday’s trip to St Johnstone.
“Definitely, it makes a huge difference,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Hence why Jose Mourinho, according to accounts, sneaked into the dressing room in a laundry basket, if rumours are led to be believed.
“It’s not just the touchline on the day, it’s leading up to the game, the two days before the game.
“It’s the messages that he’s putting across, the morning of the game talking to individuals, talking to the team.
“He’s the man in charge. It’s who the players are looking to for inspiration and guidance.
“Yes, without a doubt, it makes a difference.”

James Tavernier, Ryan Kent, Scott Wright, Calvin Bassey and goalkeepers Allan McGregor and Jon McLaughlin also missed Rangers’ previous two games.
They drew 0-0 with Alashkert to progress to the Europa League group stages before beating Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has told Rangers to be “very cautious” amid an “awkward” sponsor clash.
