Kieran Maguire makes ‘£6m Rangers January transfer claim
Rangers could theoretically spend as much as £6million in January and remain within the parameters of financial fair play.
That is according to finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Rangers’ prospects in the transfer market.
New manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst was officially announced as Steven Gerrard’s replacement on 18 November.

The Dutchman takes over a team four points clear atop of the Scottish Premiership and in contention to qualify from their Europa League group.
But they did not spend heavily in the summer and an Ibrox source has told this site that Gerrard was frustrated by the lack of investment.
The club posted a £23.5million loss in its most recent set of accounts for the year ending June 2021.
And Maguire reveals how that shortfall will affect the fund available to them in the mid-season window.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “If they are in the Champions League, they are allowed to lose £25.5m over three years.
“In the most recent three-year period, they have lost £54m. So based on my calculations, they have a little bit of wiggle room.
“There are adjustments which you can make in terms of infrastructure costs, academy costs, bonuses for winning trophies and so on.

“That is something the club needs to be aware of because they either have to start selling players or getting their costs under control.
“After we consider my estimates of the other allowable costs, which I would say are around £20m, they probably only have £5m or £6m to play with.“
In other news, pundit suggests Nathan Patterson is “ready to leave” Rangers and follow Steve Gerrard to Aston Villa.
