Kieran Maguire: Rangers have found the ‘perfect investor’ after £4.1m reveal
A Rangers supporter is the “perfect investor” because they are unlikely to want to take any money out of the club.
So says finance expert Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Rangers confirmed their latest share allotment on 6 September.
An update posted to Companies House showed that the Scottish champions had sold £4.1million worth of shares.

The most recent tranche of investment was part of the fan-led share issue in which supporters were encouraged to buy a stake in the club.
Rangers have issued several rounds of shares in 2021, and supporters trust Club 1872 are aiming to become the club’s largest individual stakeholder.
Maguire argues that the supporters who recently bought into Rangers are ideal for the club’s growth.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “There is this dichotomy in that, yes, you’re an investor in Rangers, but you are also a fan.
“You are more likely to want on-field success and for the winnings to be reinvested into the talent.
“They are the perfect investor in that sense that they are not looking to take money out of the club.
“The decision whether or not to pay a dividend is made and recommended by the board of directors.

“You could, in theory, challenge that at an annual general meeting, but I don’t think anybody would.
“The directors have the weight of ownership in terms of shares to block that.”
