
Rangers icon Ally McCoist sends message to Prince William after honour
Rangers legend Ally McCoist took to social media to thank the Prince after receiving an OBE from the monarch.
On Wednesday, the 62-year-old received the prestigious honour from Prince William, 42, at Windsor Castle as his family watched.
The now-pundit and former Rangers striker remains the club’s all-time top goalscorer with 355 goals in 581 appearances for the Glasgow giants.
McCoist, who was also capped 61 times by Scotland, previously received an MBE in 1994 for his services to football.

Before becoming a beloved pundit for various outlets, McCoist managed his boyhood club through its most tumultuous period, remaining at Rangers after their liquidation and subsequent relegation.
Now they’re back at the summit of Scottish football, something that may never have been possible if it hadn’t been for McCoist’s dedication to the cause.
He took to Instagram to thank the Prince, and, in typical fashion, make a joke about Aston Villa, the team His Royal Highness supports.
