Rangers icon Barry Ferguson has revealed a hilarious moment during an Old Firm clash when he was getting “dog’s abuse” from his Celtic supporting father-in-law.
The former Rangers captain’s wife Margaret and her family are all Celtic fans with Ferguson’s father-in-law a season ticket holder at Celtic Park.
Ferguson revealed how he once ended up in among the Celtic fans during one Old Firm and spotted his father-in-law joining in with the abuse aimed at him.
“The ball’s went out of play and a Celtic player has given me a dunt in the back and I’ve then fell in towards the Celtic fans,” Ferguson said, as quoted by BBC Sportsound on Twitter.
“I look up and I was getting had signals from the Celtic supporters, which is fine, but in amongst them I spotted somebody who I knew.
“It was my father-in-law and I just laughed! There he was giving me dog’s abuse and a certain hand signal that was worse than all the guys round about him.”
