Rangers in line for ‘massive’ Aaron Ramsey boost – McLeish
Alex McLeish has insisted Rangers will receive a “massive bonus” when Aaron Ramsey eventually returns from injury.
The former Gers boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 31-year-old would want to ensure he comes back fit and raring to go after his current absence,
As confirmed by Rangers on Wednesday (23 February), Ramsey will miss Thursday’s home tie against Borussia Dortmund.
The midfielder missed the Dundee United game with a “minor knock”.
However, the club revealed he was set to return to training this week.
McLeish suggested Ramsey would want to ensure his fitness to avoid any further disappointment among the Ibrox faithful.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I’ll put my tuppenceworth in here. I had injuries throughout my career, not too many bad ones.
“I think Ramsey will be trying to make sure he gets to a level where he doesn’t want to let the Rangers fans down.
“If they can get a guy like Ramsey with his experience back in the team, who knows how to win these games and manage these games, that would be a massive bonus.
“Ramsey could maybe make that little difference.”
Ramsey has played four times for Rangers since joining on loan from Juventus.

He came off the bench in the dying minutes of last week’s 4-2 win away at Dortmund.
His only start for the Gers to date came in the 3-0 Scottish Cup win over Annan Athletic.
