Rangers in ‘pole position’ to complete fourth signing – sources

Rangers are set to make Bayern Munich winger Yusuf Kabadayi their fourth signing of the summer following Clinton Nsiala’s arrival, sources have told Football Insider.

The Glasgow giants are in “pole position” to land the 20-year-old’s signature, sources say, as Philippe Clement continues a huge overhaul of the playing squad.

Rangers announced the signing of Nsiala, also 20, on a pre-contract from AC Milan on Monday after completing deals for Jefte and Oscar Cortes.

Kabadayi will be allowed to leave Bayern this summer after failing to force his way into their first team, with Clement’s side leading the race to sign the attacker.

Rangers want to secure another early deal ahead of the Champions League qualifiers in August as they look to book their place in European football’s premier competition for next season.

Kabadayi is under contract at the Allianz Arena until June 2025.

Yusuf Kabadayi may become fourth Rangers summer signing

The Germany U-20 international has spent the past 12 years with Bayern after joining the club in 2012.

The Munich-born winger, who can also play as a forward, has failed to make a senior appearance for the Bundesliga giants since progressing through their ranks.

Kabadayi spent last season on loan at Bundesliga 2 side Schalke, where he scored four goals in 24 appearances.

Rangers are now in pole position to land the German as Clement looks to shake up his squad after they failed in their Scottish Premiership title bid last season.

The Belgian manager is keen to strengthen his side before the Champions League qualifiers in August after Ryan Jack, Jon McLaughlin, Borna Barisic, John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe have all been released following the expiration of their contracts.

Former Aberdeen chief Keith Wyness told Football Insider Celtic could earn up to £40million more than Rangers if they don’t qualify for the Champions League next season.
