Rangers among favourites to sign goalscoring midfielder who ripped up 2016-17 league

Rangers are firmly in the running to sign Hibernian midfield kingpin John McGinn before the transfer window cut-off, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Bet Victor priced the Scottish giants at 8/1 on Saturday afternoon to land the central midfielder, 22, before next Thursday’s deadline.
Rangers are third favourites for McGinn’s signature, behind only bitter rivals Celtic (2/1) and English Championship club Sunderland (6/1), with Ipswich Town (8/1) also the same price.
McGinn spearheaded Hibernian’s return to the Scottish Premiership with his outstanding displays last season, in which he scored five goals and 10 assists from 37 matches during their romp to the Championship title.
The performances of the three-times Scotland international have attracted covetous glances from south of the border, with Ipswich seemingly in the driving seat for his signature.

Glasgow-born McGinn joined Hibs from St Mirren in the summer of 2015 and signed a four-year contract that expires in the summer of 2019.
