Rangers line up Nico Raskin replacement as two Premier League clubs line up deadline day swoop
Rangers star Nico Raskin could be a major departure from Ibrox on deadline day, with the club lining up his replacement.
Raskin was not in the matchday squad as Rangers played out a 0-0 draw with Celtic, as the pressure continues to build on manager Russell Martin.
Martin has failed a win in his first four Scottish Premiership matches so far and Rangers lost 9-1 on aggregate to crash out of the Champions League in midweek.
Raskin’s cause at Rangers was not helped by his father’s social media comments post Club Brugge, a match the Belgian did not start.

Rangers make move for Norwich star
As per the Daily Record [31 August], Wolves and Crystal Palace, alongside La Liga club Real Betis, are showing interest in Raskin.
Rangers are therefore moving quickly to sort a replacement with just 24 hours of the transfer window left open.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Rangers have made a bid for Kenny McLean alongside Championship club Wrexham.
Russell Martin faces important deadline day

Football Insider Verdict
It could be a busy and important deadline day at Rangers with work still to be done by Martin on his squad despite an overhaul this summer.
Raskin’s absence against Celtic makes it likely that the 24-year-old could be the highest profile departure.
Bojan Miovski’s arrival from Girona, means Cyriel Dessers could be free to leave Rangers though Martin may want to source another number nine if the 30-year-old departs.
The arrival of McLean would bring experience into the Rangers side and previous experience of playing in the Scottish Premiership following previous stints at Aberdeen and St Mirren.

Rangers though lacked creativity and Martin’s possession based approach does not seem to be getting the most out of his forwards.
The Gers have only scored three goals in four league games, though Miovski looked bright against Celtic.
