Rangers linked with summer swoop for prolific striker with near 1 in 2 goal record

Rangers are chasing Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes, according to a report, as the Gers look at bringing the prolific striker to Ibrox this summer.

According to the Yorkshire Post, Gers manager Steven Gerrard is mulling over a bid for the striker who has scored 95 times in 207 appearances in the Championship.

Football Insider verdict:

Rhodes could prove to be a great signing for the Light Blues if they can strike a good deal with Sheffield Wednesday for the former Scotland striker. After a number of big money moves in his career, Rhodes has never really lived up to the hype despite regularly scoring when he is given a chance. With the Gers heavily reliant of Alfredo Morelos and Josh Windass for goals last season, bringing in another attacker who knows how to hit the net regularly can help the Light Blues mount a sustained title challenge next term. The 28-year-old is at a point in his career where his next move is likely the last big one of his career and a move to Ibrox could help him salvage his career and cement his legacy as a top quality striker and help fire the Light Blues to their first major trophy in seven years.
