Rangers make final decision on Silas Andersen signing as £6m transfer news emerges
Rangers have had a highly active transfer window and have reportedly been pursuing Silas Andersen in the closing stages.
While Danny Rohl wants a striker to add to his collection at Ibrox, the Danish midfielder has been a target for the Gers.
Currently playing for BK Hacken in Sweden, the 21-year-old has impressed in Scandinavia.
Celtic have also been interested in Andersen, as both sides look to improve their chances of winning the Scottish Premiership title this season.
However, it now appears that the Gers have pulled out of the race for the midfielder, with the asking price for the 21-year-old being too high for Rohl’s side.
Rangers refuse to meet BK Hacken’s asking price for Silas Andersen
According to the Sunday Mail newspaper on 1 February, BK Hacken’s asking price for Andersen has scared away Rangers’ interest.
The Swedish side want £6million for the Denmark Under 21s international, something that the Old Firm side are clearly unwilling to pay.
Farzam Abolhosseini confirmed via X on 1 February that German outfit FC Koln have also seen a £3.5m bid rejected for the midfielder.
FC Köln har for nylig lagt et bud på fire millioner euro, 30 mio. kr., med bonusser for Silas Andersen, men BK Häcken har afvist tyskerne, ligesom de gjorde med Rangers FC. Svenskerne vil have mindst syv mio. euro, 52 mio. kr., for årets spiller i klubben. https://t.co/u2de9yaxwL

Therefore, while it remains to be seen if Andersen gets a move away from BK Hacken before the end of the winter window, it is highly unlikely that Rangers will be the club to make that happen.
What has Danny Rohl said about Rangers’ business going into deadline day?
To date, Rangers have signed three players so far this transfer window as they look to beat both Hearts and Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title over the coming months.
However, further additions are likely, with Rohl targeting a striker at Ibrox before the transfer window slams shut.
Both Ryan Naderi and Cameron Archer have been linked to the Gers over the past few days as they look to finally solve their ongoing issues up top.

Rangers have been without a clinical goalscorer all season, something that has no doubt affected their ability to win the title.
Now, with transfer deadline day on Monday, Rohl has refused to state how many signings he expects will be through the door before the window slams shut.
Asked how many players he wanted to bring in before deadline day, he told BBC Sport on 28 January: “I have a number in my head. [Chairman] Andrew [Cavenagh] knows it, the recruitment knows it.
“Some moments you think you have a yes, then maybe not. But, all in all, I think, at the end of the window, we should have a good number of players.”
