Sources: Sean Dyche opens Rangers talks in new twist amid Michael Beale backlash
Sean Dyche is being seen by Rangers as an increasingly strong alternative to Michael Beale after holding talks with the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The Rangers board are torn between Beale, who has the backing of director of football Ross Wilson, and a more experienced alternative who is proven at the highest level.

Dyche is believed to have had discussions with Rangers as they continue to take to candidates about replacing the sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Dyche fits the bill after working wonders at Burnley, who he established in the Premier League during an immensely successful decade-long reign.
The 51-year-old has publicly made it clear he wants to get back into management and is believed, well-placed sources tell us, to be keen on the Ibrox post.
He is said to be “well up for it” and “fancies” a crack at managing a giant club who regularly compete in elite European competition.
Beale is the number one choice of Wilson, who is leading the hunt to replace the sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Wilson and managing director Stewart Robertson have been in London this week to hold talks with prospective candidates, with QPR now braced for an official approach for Beale.
The Londoner, 42, remains in pole position to land the job and has made no attempt to hide his attachment to Rangers after three years at the club as first-team coach.
But Ibrox directors are wary of growing criticism about Beale from fans on social media, centring on his lack of management experience and QPR’s wretched run of results going into the international break.
The west Londoners made a mockery of their small budget to lead the Championship after 16 matches but they have now dropped to seventh in the table at the mid-season break.

Football Insider broke the news on 12 November that Beale was Rangers’ favoured candidate to replace Van Bronckhorst.
He is good friends with Wilson and the pair struck up an excellent relationship during the Londoner’s three years as first-team coach at Rangers.
