Rangers must do the right thing and remove senior man from post immediately

Rangers have to do the right thing by their fans, and remove manager Graeme Murty from his post as soon as possible.

The Gers are in a tailspin following Sunday’s 5-0 loss to Celtic, and if they want to have any hope of finishing in second place in the Scottish Premiership they must remove senior man Murty, who the players seem to have lost all faith in.

It was a bit of a surprise that Murty wasn’t sacked in the aftermath of the loss at Celtic Park, such was the awful performance by the Gers, but as yet the board don’t seem to have any intention of giving Murty the boot before the end of the season.

There is a ready made caretaker at the club in Jimmy Nicholl, who could take over for the last three games of the season and perhaps get a reaction from players who seemed to have stopped listening to Murty.

Despite Sunday’s awful performance and result, the Gers do still have something to play for, as they sit only three points behind Aberdeen in the battle for second placed in the Scottish Premiership.

Finishing second would be progression from last season’s third place, and the Gers should do all they can to ensure they finish runners-up in the league table, which means getting rid of Murty.
