Rangers need Jose Cifuentes in the building ‘now’ after source’s reveal – expert

Jose Cifuentes is the missing “piece of the puzzle” for Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton said Michael Beale views Cifuentes as the difference maker for his team moving forward.

The Light Blues has already confirmed that the club have agreed a pre-contract agreed with the 24-year-old that will see him make the switch to Scotland at the end of the year when his Los Angeles FC contract expires.

On 28 July, Football Insider revealed that the Gers are ready to announce the signing of the midfielder imminently after finalising the particulars of a deal.

The Ibrox club are expected to make the move official early next week.

When asked if it is foolish for the Gers to pay up now when Cifuentes would be arriving for free in five months, Hutton told Football Insider:Obviously the manager and the backroom staff view it as he is a piece of the puzzle that we need now,

He is going to make us better at this moment in time and we are willing to shell out a little bit extra to do so. If it does not work out then he will have back up options within the squad at this moment in time.

But if you have got someone that you know is coming into the building, you want him there as soon as possible because you know he could be the difference maker moving forward in these big games coming up.
