Mark Allen overhaul can help Rangers turn title dream into reality with this signature win

COMMENT
Rangers boss Graeme Murty has done a great job in recent weeks in getting the Light Blues into something approaching a title race.
The 2-0 victory over Hearts on Saturday saw the Gers cut Celtic’s lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table to only six points, although the Hoops can increase it to nine with a win over Aberdeen on Sunday.
The fact that people are even talking about a title race at all is testament to the work done by Murty and director of football Mark Allen, who has saw his January signings – the likes of Greg Docherty, Jamie Murphy, Sean Goss, Jason Cummings and Russell Martin – all hit the ground running.
What would make the Gers title prospects turn from a dream into something approaching a reality, would be a victory over Celtic in the Old Firm derby at Ibrox on the 11th of March.
Both of the derbies Murty has taken charge of have ended in draws, with the Gers arguably unfortunate not to come away with all three points from the goalless draw at Celtic Park in December.
The new arrivals in January could push the Gers that one step further to victory over Brendan Rodgers’ side – and then the title race would really be on.
