Rangers should be expecting much more from new arrival after doing job v Ayr United

In a way it is hard to be critical of Jason Cummings after his performance for Rangers in their 6-1 win over Ayr United, which booked their place in the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup.
He did, after all, score the all important goal which put the Gers 2-1 ahead with an excellent acrobatic effort.
However, his overall performance in the match wasn’t that great, and the player will know himself that he can play better.
He was on the fringes of the game until his goal, and found it difficult to impose himself on the game, unlike his strike partner Alfredo Morelos, who kept up his excellent goalscoring form with two goals.
If Graeme Murty is going to play two men up-front then Cummings and Morelos will remain in the team as they are currently the best two forwards at the club.
If Murty wants to play a lone striker though, then Morelos is the man, as he is the best striker in Scotland at the moment.
Cummings is only just at Rangers, and he has time to impose himself at Ibrox, and the goal against Ayr will undoubtedly help with that, but at the moment he is behind Morelos when it comes to the best strikers at Rangers.
