Rangers news: Pundit issues ‘unbelievable’ Allan McGregor claim after Sky update
Allan McGregor’s age should not be a factor as Rangers decide whether or not to offer him a new deal.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 40-year-old’s future.
Sky Sports reported on Wednesday (8 June) that Rangers have not opened talks over a new deal with Allan McGregor who is out of contract at Ibrox.

It is claimed both parties want to enter negotiations but the stopper is not interested in a coaching role.
Kenny insists Rangers should offer McGregor a new deal as soon as possible.
When asked if he was surprised to hear about a lack of negotiations, Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild, “Yeah, I thought this was going to be sorted.
“He has played a massive part in their season, whatever age he is, it doesn’t matter.
“He was been so important for them this season, he just have played over 40 games.
“I’m sure he is an unbelievable pro around the club so would he want to do a bit of coaching too?
“I just find it strange but it depends what Rangers’ plans are.“

McGregor played 47 times across all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign as the Gers reached the Europa League win and won the Scottish Cup.
He rejoined the club in 2018 and has now racked up 446 appearances across all competitions for the Gers.
In other news, a Premier League club are in advanced talks to sign a Rangers player after a record Ibrox offer.
