Rangers offer personal terms to midfielder, his new agents have tabled deal

Rangers have offered personal terms to Genoa midfielder Emil Bohinen ahead of a potential January move as his loan to Serie B club Venezia is set to be cut short.

Rangers are in real need of new additions in numerous positions during the January window after a turbulent first half of the campaign.

Danny Rohl has improved their form since his arrival in October, with the Gers now sat third in the Scottish Premiership and just three points behind arch-rivals Celtic after some strong recent showings.

They will feel that the league is there to be won if they can continue impressing, with Hearts still out in front as it stands, and Rangers chiefs are set to back Rohl with a transfer kitty for fresh faces in January.

Nico Raskin could leave Ibrox amid links to Tottenham, and the Gers may have identified a replacement for him in midfield who currently plies his trade in Italy.

Bohinen’s new agents table offer from Rangers as Venezia loan cancelled

26-year-old Bohinen, who is the son of former Nottingham Forest star Lars, has only played nine times for Genoa since a January 2024 move from fellow Serie A side Salernitana.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Frosinone, and has been featuring on loan at Serie B outfit Venezia in 2025-26, with nine appearances across league and cup games so far.

According to a new report from Calcio Spezia, Bohinen has just changed agents, and his new representatives have received an offer for his services from Rangers ahead of the January window.

Bohinen’s signature is a priority for Italian second-tier side Spezia, but he also has offers from the Eredivisie, with Genoa and Venezia having agreed to terminate his loan deal early.

Could Raskin leave Rangers after Rohl’s ‘want to see more’ comments?

Bohinen is a relatively unknown entity among British football fans, but could soon be on his way to Ibrox with Raskin potentially on his way out.

Gers boss Rohl recently admitted that he had held long talks with the Belgian international and told him that he “wants to see more” from him in the second half of the campaign.

A potential move away likely hinges on his own desires, with Rohl seeing him as central to his plans, and Football Insider previously revealed that Raskin could be tempted to join Spurs if they make an approach for his services.

The 24-year-old has been key to the Gers’ upturn in form recently, though, and looks to be settled under Rohl as he builds his team around him.

With that in mind, and given that he would likely find it hard to break into Spurs‘ starting eleven on a consistent basis, it does seem likely that he stays, with Bohinen possibly signed as depth rather than as a replacement.
