Rangers owners told to sell as catastrophic Ibrox image emerges – fans react

Rangers fans have called for chairman John Bennett to speak out after the latest development surrounding the Ibrox “shambles”.

Delays to the renovation of the stadium could reportedly make Ibrox unusable until October, meaning Rangers will have to play their home fixtures elsewhere until that time.

Work was scheduled to begin shortly after the end of the season, but delays in ordering and delivery of resources have seen the timeline pushed back yet again.

Bennett has been the focus of fans’ anger as a result, and his absence from the club’s recent Fan Advisory Board meeting has reignited the flames.

An image shared on social media appeared to show initial work taking place at Ibrox, while supporters also noticed potential issues with the pitch ahead of the new season.

The delays to the stadium renovation are just the latest of several mounting issues in Govan, with fans’ frustrations at the situation on and off the pitch beginning to boil over.

Bennett, who owns 5.51% of Rangers, has been labelled “amateurish” and a “coward”, while one fan even demanded he sell his shares to allow the club to move forward.

Separately, supporters also noted the state of the pitch after new images emerged.

Even in unrelated posts, the club’s social media channels have been flooded with criticism of Bennett.
