Kamara and Rangers teammate expected to accept Aston Villa offers after 'worrying' source reveal - Kenny

Ryan Kent and Glen Kamara could follow Steven Gerrard in quitting Rangers for Aston Villa.

So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Gerrard’s transfer plans at his new club.

Gerrard was announced as Villa boss on 10 November after three-and-a-half years in Glasgow.

A source with knowledge of Kent’s situation has told Football Insider that Villa and Leeds are among the clubs who have been keeping tabs on him.

The winger, 25, is under contract at Ibrox until 2023

The Daily Record reported on 12 November that 26-year-old midfielder Glen Kamara is also being eyed by Gerrard.

Kamara signed a contract extension in September and is committed to the club until 2025.

Kenny predicts that both players would find it hard to turn down the opportunity to join up with Gerrard south of the border.

“It’s every player’s dream to play in the Premier League,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“If Gerrard fancies taking two of them down to Aston Villa, I would be surprised if Kamara and Kent turned that offer down. That’s worrying for Rangers.

“Why would you not want to play for a massive club like Aston Villa. Gerrard is a top-class manager and I’m sure he’s made an impression on them too.

“You see managers going after their old players quite regularly. Obviously, Neil Warnock signed me four or five times in my playing days.”
