Rangers and Celtic clashed in the second Old Firm clash of the season with both sides taking a share of the spoils after a 0-0 draw.

Despite being written off by everyone in the build-up, Graeme Murty’s side were the better team for long spells and will be disappointed to have come away with only one point.

A defensive masterclass from the Gers kept Celtic’s much talked about front line at bay in a composed and comfortable performance.

Rangers hadn’t beaten the Hoops in the league since 2012 and will have felt they should have ended that run after being denied by a combination of great goalkeeping and poor finishing.

The result leaves the Gers 11 points off their bitter rivals in the Scottish Premiership going into the three-week winter break.

Graeme Murty has now gone up against Brendan Rodgers twice at Celtic Park as Rangers manager without losing and will have done his chances of landing the manager’s job beyond the end of the season no harm at all.
