Football Insider rates the Rangers players out of ten after their 2-1 win over Motherwell in the Scottish Cup at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
Wes Foderingham 7 – With his team holding the ball for the majority of the game, the shot stopper had a day off during the first period of the cup tie. He couldn’t do much with the Motherwell opening goal but he didn’t produce two fantastic saves after his team equalised.
Lee Hodson 5 – It was a quiet game in the first period with his team holding the majority of the ball, but when the opposition provided the danger he was unable to head the ball away. Hodson will be hugely disappointed at being beaten to Louis Molt’s header.
Rob Kiernan 5 – Once again another player who was at fault for Molt’s goal. His positional play as the cross was coming in was baffling, the youngster had no clue what he was doing.
Clint Hill 5 – He didn’t have much to do in the first half but the experienced centre-back should have organised his defence as Moult opened the scoring.
Lee Wallace 6 – He did his best to provide the attacking threat from the left-hand side and produced a good shift going back.
Jon Toral 5 – The debutant looked neat and tidy but could have done more in the first period. Needs more game time under his belt.
Andy Halliday 5 – Should have moved the ball quicker during the game but it was a typical workmanlike performance from the midfielder.
Michael O’Halloran 6 – He should have had a penalty in the first half when he dazzled his way into the penalty area. The referee should have either booked him for diving or given the spot kick.
Jason Holt 4 – Poor display and should be dropped from the next match. The 23-year-old was invisible in the first half.
Barrie McKay 7 – His injection of pace tormented the Motherwell backline on the left-hand side. McKay constantly got into the box and delivered some very good ball, his attackers should have done better to put away the chances.
Kenny Miller 7 – The experienced striker scored a magnificent headed goal in the second period and then scored the winner minutes later. However, he should have got on the scoresheet a lot earlier.
Josh Windass 7 – (for Toral, 63mins)
Martyn Waghorn 6 – (for O’Halloran, 71mins)
Emerson Hyndman 6 – (for Holt, 73mins)
In other Rangers team news, a reported source has made this transfer claim as three new £signings signings could arrive.
